Wong out of starting lineup once again

The St. Louis Cardinals’ Kolten Wong sat as expected against the left-handed Steven Matz on Sunday, but according to cbssports.com, the Hilo native was out of the starting lineup again Monday despite the fact St. Louis faced a right-hander, in part because of the hot start of Jose Martinez, who opened the year 5-for-11.

While Wong got into Monday’s game in the seventh inning and finished 0 for 1, Matt Carpenter started at second base, with Jedd Gyorko receiving another start at third.

With Martinez getting more time at first, Carpenter is forced to slide over to second.
